There are not as many calories in pork tenderloin as there are many other varieties of pork. Pork tenderloin is one of the leanest meats and considered the most reduced-fat of all cuts of pork.

In a three-ounce serving of pork tenderloin there are 15 grams of protein. The general rule of thumb is that there are 5 grams of protein per ounce of meat.
Aside from being very lean and low in calories, pork tenderloin is full of vitamins and minerals, making it one of the most nutritious meats of its kind. Pork tenderloin provides a wide array of B-complex vitamins, including vitamin B6 and B12. One piece of pork tenderloin includes thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, iron, zinc and magnesium. There is even a trace of phosphorus found in the meat.
Once deemed, “the other white meat” by the USDA, pork tenderloin is often seen on the menus of dieters and those trying to maintain their weight and keep fit. There is very little fat in a piece of pork tenderloin. In fact, in just one small three ounce piece of meat there is less than 3 grams of fat. Even chicken, which is considered to be one of the leanest meats available contains 3.05 grams of fat in a three ounce slab.
