How Many Calories In Fish And Chips?

Of course this is a very unhealthy meal, but just how unhealthy is it? How many calories in fish and chips are there? It depends on the recipe and size. Most people get fish and chips at a restaurant. One small fish and chips at Jack in the Box has 575 calories and 30 grams of fat.

Fish and chips at Red Robin has 840 calories and 38 grams of fat and that's without the tartar sauce. Applebees is even worse. Their fish and chips have a whopping 1600 calories and 110 grams of fat.

Fish and chips are a popular meal stateside as well as in countries like the United Kingdom. It consists of deep fried fish and French fries. Typically people use vinegar and tartar sauce for the fish and ketchup or ranch with the French fries.

So as you can see fish and chips have an astronomically high calorie count. Fish is good for you because of the protein and omega-3 fatty acids, but the high amounts of saturated fat caused by the unhealthy oil makes it one meal to avoid if you want to lose weight and be healthy. Its certainly fine to indulge in a meal of fish and chips every once in awhile as long as you combine it with a healthy lifestyle that includes a healthy diet and exercise.
