Chicken nuggets are consumed by the boat loads in most American families. Whether they are purchased at the store or at the drive thru, they seem healthy, but really aren't. They are filled with a lot of fat and preservatives. But just how many calories in chicken nuggets are there? Lets find out.
Store bought nuggets that are breaded have about 45 calories per nugget. To go along with the 45 calories, they also have 3 grams of fat, 3 carbs, and 2.5 grams of protein. So if you eat 6 nuggets you have just consumed 270 calories.
So what about the drive thru kinds? A six piece nugget at McDonalds has 280 calories in it. About the same calorie count as the store kind. The big difference is the fat. The McD nuggets have 17 grams of fat in them.
Wendys is about the same. A five piece nugget from Wendys has 230 calories and 15 grams of fat. Add an extra nugget and its nearly identical to the McDonalds nuggets. Last but not least are the Burger King nuggets. Their nuggets are about the same as well. Burger Kings five piece nugget has 240 calories and 14 grams of fat. Again, nearly identical as the other fast food nuggets.
Now that you know how many calories are in nuggets you may want to take it easy eating them if you're trying to lose weight.
