McDonalds is the most popular fast food chain in the world. It has served billions and billions of its menu items to people across the globe. The company has become a global icon. Some say it holds much of the blame for the world wide obesity epidemic by pushing unhealthy foods loaded with preservatives, fat, sugar and calories.
One of their many popular items is known as the McDouble. It’s basically the same size as one of their regular hamburgers, but comes with an extra hamburger patty. The regular McDonald’s hamburger only has 290 calories. So how many calories in a McDouble? The answer is 390. The little double burger packs quite a punch in the calorie department. But that’s just part of the whole nutritional story here. It also has 20 grams of fat, eight grams of saturated fat, 65 mg of cholesterol, 920 mg of sodium, and 34 grams of carbs. It also has 22 grams of protein.
Add a large sweet tea and regular fry and you’re looking at well over 1,000 calories in just one meal. Nutritional experts obviously grade the McDouble a big fat “F” in terms of nutrition. Other than the protein, it offers little nutrition. You could easily say the McDouble can be classified as the stereotypical “gut bomb.” If you’re going to eat one, skip the cheese. Order a water and also skip the fries.
