We all know donuts are not the healthiest breakfast option, but just how many calories in a Dunkin donut are there?
The answer depends on what type of Dunkin donut you’re talking about. One cocoa glazed donut has 240 calories as stated on the Dunkin donuts website. That’s the lowest calorie donut they have.
On the opposite end of the spectrum we have the blueberry crumb donut that has a whopping 500 calories.
Most other Dunkin donut varieties have about 300-370 calories per donut. That’s quite a few calories especially if you drink one of their coffees that can have hundreds of calories in them as well. The cocoa glazed donut is the best option if you are trying to keep the calorie content down. To go along with the 240 calories, the cocoa glazed has 11 grams of fat, 240 mg of sodium, 32 grams of carbs, 2 grams of fiber, 12 grams of sugar and 4 grams of protein. Not exactly the nutritional profile of a breakfast of champions.
There’s certainly nothing wrong with eating a Dunkin donut now and again as a treat, but do not make it part of your morning ritual if you want to lose weight. Or even maintain your current weight. Dunkin donuts are about the worst thing you could eat if you want to be healthy because of their enriched bleached flour, high fat content, and high sugar content.
