On the surface a McDonalds Smoothie appears to be healthy. Full of fruit that’s packed with antioxidants and vitamins. But smoothies can also be loaded with sugar and calories. So how many calories are in a McDonalds Smoothie?
It depends on the size. A large mango pineapple smoothie is 22 fl ounces. according to McDonalds official menu the mango pineapple smoothie has a whopping 350 calories 78 grams of carbs and 77 grams of sugar. Those scary numbers show that the McDonalds smoothie only appears to be healthy. it has more sugar than a large Coca Cola. You would think it has a lot of vitamin C, but it only has 40% of the daily recommended value.
McDonalds has a way of making menu items seem healthy, but in reality they are just the opposite. So what about the other smoothie flavors? A large strawberry banana smoothie has 330 calories, 77 grams of crabs and 70 grams of sugar. It’s just about as bad as the mango pineapple. It does have 110% of the daily recommended value of vitamin C.
Lastly, a large wild berry smoothie has 320 calories, 75 grams of carbs and 69 grams of sugar. It looks like none of the McDonalds smoothies are very healthy at all. In fact, if you’re trying to watch your calories and sugar intake you would be much better off ordering a cheeseburger. It has less calories and far less carbohydrates and sugar.
