Feeling tired before your day has even begun? There’s no need to pack away caffeine by the truckload to get the energy your body should be putting off naturally! Give your body a healthy kick into a high gear with 5 easy and healthy steps.
Mind your mother and always take your vitamins
Mom was right. Vitamins and minerals are one of the simplest ways to get healthy energy without much exertion on your part. Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamin D, & even the herb Cayenne can send your metabolism into high gear when taken consistently. Don’t skimp on your vitamins either. Buying a cheap tablet form leads to little absorption and doesn’t make much of a difference. Always go for the quick dissolving capsules or a liquid form when available. Add a little Omega 3’s to your day for better mind clarity and overall body wellness!
Get out of the house and start moving
Our bodies were meant to breath in the great outdoors. A little sunshine and fresh air do things for the soul that the indoors never could. Even a 10 minute stroll around the neighborhood will send your energy levels soaring for the rest of the day! A little physical fitness also gets your blood circulating so the rest of your organs work much more efficiently. There’s no medicine like prevention…and no prevention like exercise.
Keep on eating
As long as you are eating the right things, that is. A diet heavy in carbs and sugar are energy suckers while eating healthier alternatives can fill your energy bucket to the top. Eating every 2-3 hours will keep your blood sugars level and your energy at peak performance. Great snacks have a combination of both protein and healthy carbs. Try an apple with peanut butter, yogurt with sliced fruit, or some cheese and whole grain crackers. Having your snacks planned out and ready to go for the day will make sure you don’t reach for an unhealthy alternative on the move.
Drink water like it’s going out of style
Drink H20…then drink some more. Getting enough water is one thing hardly anyone is doing these days. Sugar filled drinks, sodas, and other unhealthy beverages, are lining grocery carts while H20 goes neglected. Remember, when your body is the least bit deficient on water, it doesn’t function nearly as well. Keep a water bottle on you at all times and keep on sippin’.
Sounds a little strange, yet gratitude puts off energy in spades. Keeping a positive attitude on life will help you stay upbeat and have more energy each day. Put simply, negative people feel negatively. Positive people seem to always be moving and succeeding. It’s not rocket science…put on a smile and start counting your blessings.
