White Chocolate is a derivative of chocolate containing cocoa butter, sugar, milk and other fats and solids. White chocolate has grown in popularity and is characterized by by an ivory or off-white color. White chocolate does stay solid at room temperature, but does melt easier than dark chocolate because of its makeup. Chocolate is derived from the cocoa plant so it can contain caffeine. But does white chocolate have caffeine in it?
White chocolate does not have caffeine in it. Why? its made differently than dark chocolate so it does not have the same attributes found in dark chocolate.
Dark chocolate is also known for having antioxidants in it. White chocolate does not. Not only is caffeine missing from white chocolate, so is thiamine, riboflavin, theobromine, and phenylethylamine. White chocolate does not contain caffeine because it does not contain any cocoa solids. That is why dark chocolate has caffeine but white chocolate does not.
White chocolate is a great alternative for people who do not want to consume caffeine for health or religious purposes, but still want to enjoy a sweet chocolaty snack.
But be careful consuming too much. It is very high in calories and fat. Too much white chocolate and you can expect your waistline to expand at a rapid rate. Eating it on special occasions is best.
