Does Ginger Ale Have Caffeine?

Ginger Ale is a popular type of soda that was first created as in the United States as a mixer to hide the taste of homemade booze. It rose to popularity during prohibition days.

The most popular brand of ginger ale in America is Canada Dry. It is a dry version of the drink that is not as flavorful and robust as golden ginger ale. So does ginger ale have caffeine in it?

The answer is no. Ginger ale does not have caffeine in it.

The drink is popular among pregnant women and passengers on airplanes. Why? Because ginger has been proven to fight nausea. Ginger has anti-nausea properties in it and works as a natural remedy quite well.

It is also heavily consumed by individuals who do not want to drink caffeine for health or religious purposes. For example, Mormons do not drink caffeine so they tend to be large consumers of Ginger ale. They still get to enjoy the effervescent taste of a soda-like drink without breaking the rules of their religion.

You do have to be careful to not drink too much ginger ale if you are trying to lose weight. It does contain empty calories like other sodas. Its okay as an occasional drink, but water is by far your best bet.
