Can you workout after getting a tattoo? The answer is yes. Although it might not be the smartest thing to do especially if you want to maintain the integrity and looks of your fresh new tatt. A new tattoo should not get wet for several days. That means you should not swim. It is very important to protect the tattoo and keep it moist with tattoo ointment. If the skin becomes dry it could crack and ruin the design.
If the tattoo is in a location that may rub against fitness equipment then you should avoid working out until the tattoo has completely settled into the skin and healed. If it’s on a location such as the arm then you should be able to keep it covered and moistened enough to do a light workout. The most important thing is to keep it clean, moist, and protected. If your workout endangers any of those three things then you’ll want to avoid it.
